Teri Kropik, founder, has worked with animals most of her life. Teri has trained dogs and shown them in obedience, agility and fly ball competitions. Although she loves dogs, her specialty is with cats. With a medical background, she loves caring for ill and special needs kittens. She is a volunteer at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter and adoption coordinator for Sundays at Portofino PetSmart in the Woodlands. Teri is also involved in many community organizations, including the Friends of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter (FMCTAS). Teri's dream is to have a facility where more animals can be saved and cared for.
Ron McCuen
Ron has raised and sheltered animals since childhood. He especially loves cats and cat people.
He is our Wags to Whiskers of Texas foster coordinator with well over 100 fosters. Holding adoption events at many locations, he is constantly interacting with folks and cats from all walks of life and strives to help all who seek him out for advice, sheltering help, and performing rescues. His specialty is convincing people to foster found or stray cats & kittens!
Barbara Egan
Barbara has worked extensively with animals for many years, including showing and training. Her true passion is Visulas, she has 3 rescue Visulas and Zoe another rescue from MCAS. A dog can only dream of getting to be one of Barbara's fosters. Barbara is also very active in many other Community Organizations including the Friends of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter (FMCTAS).
Juanita Millard
Juanita is a true animal lover, as you can see puppies hold a large part of her heart. She is a tireless volunteer for the Montgomery County Animal Shelter and a foster. When not volunteering at the shelter or giving her animals lots of love, you can find her helping with adoptions at Portofino.
Connie Barreto
Connie is an expert on small dogs. She fosters and also has numerous rescues of her own. She does a wonderful job of fundraising and spoiling our cats and dogs
with beautiful hand made items. Each puppy or dog gets a personalized bandana when adopted and each cat or kitten receives a handmade baby blanket. Connie is full of innovative fundraising
ideas and brings her expertise to the board.
Shawn Kneale
Shawn is a true animal lover and has worked tirelessly for Wags to Whiskers. She has many pets of her own including horses, cats and dogs. She does a great job
of helping market our organization. As a Realtor for Remax Rewards, she has many helpful contacts to help Wags to Whiskers grow.
Dana Lindeneau She comes to us with extensive marketing experience. Dana is taking the lead in marketing and fundraising for Wags to Whiskers. Her projects include working with many area locations to set up adoption sites to help find the perfect forever home for our residents and starting online stores to help raise funds for the care of our animals. She is a great volunteer and gives her time and energy to many community organizations. Dana is an animal lover and has many "fur babies" of her own. We are thrilled that she has joined our team.
Melanie Madison
Melanie has had a life long love for animals, especially cats. She was the driving force behind the Cat Playroom at Montgomery County Animal Shelter. The Playroom has made a big difference in the way the animals are treated and the way the Shelter is perceived by the public. Thanks to Melanie adoptions have increased. Melanie is also a foster mom and has saved hundreds of lives. She continues to volunteer at MCAS and is working on a new project, a bigger and better Cat Playroom, where the cats will be cage free.
